Welcoming in the Winter Season with December Celebration

Ahead of the winter holidays, celebrate the season with a cycle of four original carols by Gordon Getty, composed for women's or children’s chorus and chamber orchestra. Getty's carols are "poignant and joyful," praises Opera News, "it’s an instant nostalgic classic. Getty has obviously poured his heart into these songs." Getty's rendering of "Silent Night" closes the album,  described by ConcertoNet as "a triumph of purpose, giving new meaning to the sounds of the season."

December Celebration, released by PENTATONE, also features new works by Getty's peers Mark Adamo, William Bolcom, John Corigliano, David Garner, Jake Heggie, and Luna Pearl Woolf. Soprano Lisa Delan "delivers a colorful, spirited rendering," and the Volti Chorus has a "very attractive sound" (Opera News). Powerful baritone Lester Lynch, gives "compelling, well-characterized renditions" and pianist and organist Steven Bailey brings his artistry to the holiday album.
