China TV has selected for national broadcast the Russian National Orchestra’s (RNO) March 2018 concert at Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts (“The Egg”), including Gordon Getty’s Ancestor Suite. The program, conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky, also included Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 23 with Mikhail Pletnev on piano. Later RNO dates on the tour included dancers from the Bolshoi for Ancestor Suite, but they encountered visa problems.
